We stock and install FAAC-compatible welded and fabricated gate components throughout Miami, with most fabrication jobs priced between $275 and $900 installed depending on the part and the gate layout. For the majority of FAAC repairs that involve welding or fabrication, we can typically dispatch a technician the same day you call (850) 409-8032. Most owners find this page because a hinge tore out of a steel post, a gate rack bent out of alignment, or the mounting plate for their FAAC operator cracked clean through. Here’s what you need to know before spending another dollar.
Which FAAC Models This Applies To
FAAC has been building gate operators and structural gate hardware for decades, and the welded and fabricated components we handle in Miami cover both their swing-arm systems and their underground and above-ground slide-gate lines. The most common FAAC operators we see in South Florida driveways are the 400 Series swing operators, the 750 and 770 Series slide-gate operators, the 390 and 391 hydraulic swing units, and the newer 415 and 770N platforms. The welded parts we match to these include the steel mounting posts, operator pedestals, gate hinge assemblies, rack brackets, and custom steel mounting plates.
FAAC differs from many brands in one practical way: their swing operators often mount on fabricated steel posts rather than the gate itself. That means the operator plate and the hinge welds take enormous load, especially in Miami’s coastal wind and daily humidity. When customers ask whether to use a genuine FAAC part or a quality aftermarket equivalent, we tell them the truth: for electric components, stay with FAAC. For structural steel like fabricated brackets, welded hinge assemblies, and operator pedestals, a properly fabricated replacement from a Miami welding shop often outlasts the factory part for less money. The key is material and fit, not the logo.
Compatibility note that surprises most owners: FAAC uses metric hardware almost exclusively. A fabricated plate drilled for standard imperial bolts will not line up with a FAAC actuator. We drill and match every mount to the original metric pattern in our shop so the operator seats correctly the first time. That single detail prevents more stripped studs and wobbling operators than anything else we see in the field.

Signs Your FAAC Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags or scrapes at the latch end when it opens. This usually means a hinge weld is stretching or a post is slowly leaning. In Miami’s sandy, shifting soil, a gate can move a quarter-inch in a season, and the welds start working loose after that.
- The FAAC operator jerks, shudders, or binds mid-stroke. That’s often the rack shifting on its weldments or a cracked operator pedestal flexing under torque. The motor keeps pushing while the steel gives way beneath it.
- You spot rust blooms or hairline cracks at any weld joint. Salt air from Biscayne Bay accelerates this dramatically. A crack you can see with your eye today is a full separation waiting on the next windy afternoon.
- The gate pops off its track or shudders when wind hits it broadside. A bent or broken fabricated track bracket loses its grip under lateral force. Once the bracket goes, the gate edge drops six inches and the FAAC operator fights itself.
- You hear the actuator grinding but the gate barely moves. On a swing setup, that grinding is often a sheared mounting bolt on a fabricated pedestal. On a slide gate, it’s usually the rack running out of parallel after a bracket weld broke.
If any of these sound familiar, we can tell you over the phone what you’re likely dealing with. Tell me what it’s doing and I’ll tell you what it needs, usually before I even pull out a wrench.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For FAAC welding and fabrication work in Miami, here’s the pricing reality we give customers before any work begins:
- Hinge re-welding or repair (steel gate, on-site): $180 – $320
- Fabricated steel operator pedestal or mounting plate: $275 – $475
- Custom gate rack bracket fabrication and install: $200 – $380
- Full steel post replacement with custom hinge fabrication: $450 – $900
- Emergency weld repair (non-standard hours): add $75 – $140
Every quote is written before we touch a bolt. You’ll see the part cost, the labor, and the total before anything gets cut, ground, or welded. If we need to weld on-site, we bring our own power and shielding, and we protect surrounding surfaces with welding blankets. All fabricated work is covered by our written Kingswell Guarantee for 365 days. If a weld fails or a fabricated part shifts within that year, we come back and make it right at no charge.
The final cost depends on material thickness, access to the gate, and whether we need to fabricate in our shop first or can weld on-site. Either way, the price you agree to is the price you pay.
DIY or Call Us?
Let’s be honest about welding: it is not a weekend project. A gate under load carries hundreds of pounds of moving steel, and a weld that fails at the wrong moment can send a gate off its track or a mounting plate through a hinge. That’s not a scare tactic, it’s just physics. Even an experienced DIY welder rarely owns the right rod for outdoor corrosion resistance, and grinding a bad gate weld to redo it often makes the next failure worse.
What you can safely check yourself: look for visible cracks, rust at joints, loose bolts, and whether the gate blades clear the operator without scraping. Tighten any loose hardware with hand tools. If the gate sags or the operator pedestal flexes, call us. We’ll assess it over the phone and give you a straight answer on whether it needs a weld, a fabricated replacement, or just an adjustment. Call (850) 409-8032 and ask for a free estimate. We answer live.
FAQs
With proper material and a clean weld, a gate weld in Miami should hold for 10 to 20 years, assuming the gate is balanced and the operator is not fighting itself. Salt air and constant humidity cut into that lifespan, which is why we grind, prime, and coat every weld before we leave. If your weld failed inside a year, the material or the root cause was never addressed.
It depends on the crack. A short, clean crack away from the bolt pattern can often be ground out and re-welded for under $250. If the plate is rusted thin enough that a screwdriver can push through or the crack runs across two bolt holes, replacement is cheaper and safer. We’ll show you the plate and tell you straight before we recommend spending money on either option.
Most on-site weld repairs take between one and three hours from arrival to finished cleanup. If we need to build a part in our shop first, expect one to two business days for fabrication, then a scheduled install window. We’ll give you the timeframe in writing before you commit.
We carry common metric mounting plates, hinge weldments, and rack brackets sized for the FAAC 400, 750, and 770 lines on our service vehicles. Less common fabrications we build to order in our Miami shop. We also keep parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls, so one visit usually sorts the whole gate.
